Ingredients

  • 500g baby potatoes, halved

  • 3 tbsp yogurt

  • 2 tbsp achar masala

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/4 tsp garam masala

  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp cornflour

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions

  • 1. Elevate the Flavor:
Combine yogurt, achar masala, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, coriander powder, and salt in a bowl. Coat the potato halves generously in the marinade, letting them marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for intensified flavors.
  • 2. From Ordinary to Extraordinary:
Make a runny batter by mixing cornflour and water in another bowl. Dip each marinated potato half in the batter for a light coating.
  • 3. Embrace the Golden Crisp:
Heat oil in a frying pan or pot on medium heat. Cook the potatoes with batter until they get a nice brown color and are crunchy on all sides. Use paper towels to get rid of extra oil.

Tips:

  • Opt for a smokier flavor by grilling the potatoes instead of frying.
  • Make it freshness by adding fresh cilantro or chopped onions.
  • Serve with mint chutney or raita for a cooling contrast to the spice.
  • Leftovers? No problem! Warm up these tikka treats nicely in the oven or toaster oven.
